Ok, so IWA Systems Services has been successfully trading since 2008. In that time I have worked with a number of companies and individuals within the East Riding.
At the end of 2014 one of my customers asked me to come on board full time and help take the company to the next level. They had offered me a full time position a few years earlier which I declined. This time they made me an offer that I could not refuse.
I started full time in January 2015 and took on Marketing, Project Management and IT management with a view to also managing the development team in the longer term. For a number of months things were going well and I was pleased with the progress we were making on a number of fronts, especially marketing and the IT infrastructure.
Then I noticed a sea change in the directors attitudes and we started to hold up on projects. A few weeks later and we were all gathered together and told that they had sold the company. They had sold out to a competitor but it was ok, things would continue as normal.
A few months after that, another company meeting to announce all business functions in Beverley are being moved to other locations. The Beverley office is to be closed and all staff made redundant in stages. I was in the first group to go. I had high hopes for my role with this company and this was not the outcome I had expected. But it is just business at the end of the day, I don’t have an axe to grind. The parent company has been fair and all the individuals have been a pleasure to meet and work with.
So I am now back to running my own business again full time and quite excited about it. The first task is to sort out my website. I started the website back in 2008 but have always been too busy with customers work to finish it. The old website has been trashed, it had become a mishmash of experiments for customers. Over the next few weeks the new website will evolve, more on that in another post.
